You know you need
...because you know this will help you
Build a Quality Culture
Most of our frustration comes from challenges like these:
A lack of leadership commitment and support
Employees having a negative attitude about Quality and about us
Being so busy fighting fires that we don't have the time for working on Quality Culture initiatives
Being so overwhelmed by the magnitude of the task that we don't know where or how to start
Not knowing how to talk about Quality in a way that helps people understand what it's all about
Having to get people who don't directly report to us do what we need them to do
Not having a clear pathway to achieve this goal
TRUTH
While these challenges might appear as obstacles, they are actually opportunities for you to refine your skills and turn barriers into breakthroughs.
Getting things done at work - whether a big initiative like building a Quality Culture, or something smaller like getting less resistance from people - is ultimately about your interpersonal skills.
And interpersonal skills are really about two main groups of skills:
Communication Skills
Relationship-Building Skills
ANOTHER TRUTH
Skills are skills are skills.
You can learn them, practice them, and get better at them.
BEFORE
You spend your days buried in paperwork, rushing from one emergency to another.
Follow-up feels endless and you're pretty sure people are hiding things from you because they're afraid of what you'll make them do if they find out.
AFTER
Everyone is transparent, cooperative, and collaborative. You're all part of one big team.
They totally "get it" and their eagerness to help reflects the shared commitment to excellence.
You're no longer the enemy and people no longer avoid eye contact or act like you're speaking an alien language.
To improve your Quality Culture or be more effective (and happier!) at work, you've got to tackle your interpersonal skills. There's no other way.
But improving your interpersonal skills is a massive task.
Where do you start?
Become more aware of what's working and what's not
Pick one thing you want to work on - a habit or behaviour, a belief or attitude, a relationship
Make a plan that involves a way to track your progress and measure your success
Take action and have a way to hold yourself accountable
Get the support you need
It's all about clarity, planning, and action.
Work on what would make the biggest difference for you.
Then work on the next thing.
And the next.
And the next.
There's no limit to what you can improve.

I'm not going to do that thing where I go on and on about the value and tell you all the things that I decided to call a "bonus". I'm assuming you're not that gullible. (And I feel like I already went on and on way longer than I'm comfortable with).
It's valuable.
It's been going since October 2023 and there are a ton of happy people already in The Quality Membership working on themselves.
I'm happy to tell you what people say about the kind of support they get from me though.
